Adult Services

At Columbia, we believe in a collaborative approach to treatment with our adult clients. We listen to your concerns, do a thorough evaluation, and set joint goals based on the results of assessment and a client’s individual needs and wishes.

Stroke / Aphasia

Speech and Language issues after a stroke, known as aphasia, can cause difficulty with speaking, understanding, reading, or writing.  We provide assessment and treatment services for all aspects of communication as well as an intensive aphasia program.

TBI / Cognitive Language

Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) can impair the thought processes (including attention, memory, reasoning) involved in understanding, processing, and using language at home, for work or for interpersonal relationships, and social situations.  We provide individual and group treatment services that target cognitive language difficulties.

Voice / Speech

Voice and speech therapy services help individuals improve vocal quality, articulation, fluency, and communication skills through personalized exercises and techniques.

Stuttering

Adult stuttering therapy services provide strategies and techniques to enhance fluency, communication confidence, and speech control in everyday situations. While stuttering is not seen as a problem to be fixed, we offer individual assessment and treatment services as well as intensive group therapy.

Parkinson's / LSVT

Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT) is an evidence-based speech therapy program designed to improve vocal loudness, clarity, and communication in individuals with Parkinson’s disease and other neurological conditions.

English Pronunciation Improvement

We provide individual and group online treatment that helps enhance clarity, accuracy, and confidence in spoken English through targeted speech techniques and exercises.

Swallowing

We provide bedside / at home screenings for swallow management.  We consult with your hospital-based swallow intervention team as needed to support swallow management at home.
