Jessica has always been passionate about working directly with people. She grew up in a medical-minded family and knew that she too wanted to be a health professional and help people participate in activities that are meaningful to them.
She was inspired to focus her studies on speech-language pathology after volunteering with a person with aphasia in an outpatient rehabilitation program, working alongside an SLP with autistic youth in the community, and through a personal connection in which she learned about the lived experiences of being a person who stutters.
Jessica enjoys connecting with her clients and their family members through her positive and patient demeanor. She takes a holistic approach to therapy, considering each person’s individual needs and working collaboratively with their families and educators to develop personalized treatment plans. One of Jessica’s key priorities is empowering her clients to embrace themselves and to build self-confidence in their communication skills through the use of evidence-based strategies. She believes that we all have individual strengths that can be harnessed to support areas of need. She uses this philosophy while she works with clients across the lifespan with a unique range of communication needs.
